Osmosis Treatment, Boat Repairs, Moorings and Winter Boat Storage in the Solent

Serving The Solent Since 1935

Welcome to the Hayling Yacht Company. Our family owned business has generations of experience providing expert boat repairs, osmosis treatments, winter boat storage and marina berths.

With so many years on the water, we've learned to change with the times, embracing the latest technology and techniques for boat repairs, but keeping some things the same - like pride in our work and a commitment to our customers.

We have a continuous ongoing programme of investment in our business which in the last few years this has seen us:

- expand the amount of hard standing available with the purchase of adjacent land

- the building of a new sea wall to provide increased defence and safety.

- build a new high quality washroom facility with showers

We have further works planned as well as ongoing investment in machinery and equipment that will ensure we are able to meet our clients needs, now and in the future.

Located on the western edge of Chichester Harbour we're perfectly positioned to take advantage of the natural shelter, offering calm marina berths and safe boat storage - with over 15,000 square feet under cover. Our hard-standing boat storage gives access to both electricity and water points, and our soft mud berths offer exceptional value for money.

COVID-19 National Lockdown -

Marina Industry Guidance (England) - 5th January 2021

As we are all well aware the country has now been put into full lockdown again.

Today we have received guidance for the Marine industry and we would now like to let you all know where we stand going forward at the present time.

COVID-19 National Lockdown – Stay at Home

Coronavirus cases are rising rapidly across the country and therefore the Prime Minister has told the English population that new lockdown rules have been put in place with immediate effect. He confirmed that:

‘The single most important action we can all take is to stay at home to protect the NHS and save lives’.

  • You must not leave, or be outside of your home except where necessary. You may leave the home to:

    • shop for basic necessities, for you or a vulnerable person

    • go to work, or provide voluntary or charitable services, if you cannot reasonably do so from home

    • exercise with your household (or support bubble) or one other person, this should be limited to once per day, and you should not     travel outside your local area (Havant Borough for us).

    • meet your support bubble or childcare bubble where necessary, but only if you are legally permitted to form one.

    • seek medical assistance or avoid injury, illness or risk of harm (including domestic abuse)

    • attend education or childcare - for those eligible

The English lockdown rules can be found here: National lockdown: Stay at Home - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk).

Similar rules have been put in place for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The Hayling Yacht Company will try to do all they can to support the Governments lockdown rules by not encouraging berth holders and customers with boats on the yard to visit or use their boats.

During this lockdown The Hayling Yacht Company’s interpretation of Government guidance is therefore as follows:

  • COVID-19 secure site for all staff and onsite trades.

  • People can leave home for work purposes where it is unreasonable for them to do their job from home; therefore, marina staff performing roles that cannot be conducted from home may go to their place of work (the marina).

  • Access control systems may remain operational to allow people to access the marina site if they have a ‘reasonable excuse’ as specified in the Government rules for England.

  • Marinas can continue to provide and operate business services including (but not limited to) safeguarding customers boats, maintaining marina infrastructure, boatyard operations, boat servicing and supporting tenants.

  • Chandleries can operate to supply the marine trade and provide a “click/call and collect system”.

  • The Cafe will remain open providing food and non-alcoholic drinks for takeaway.

  • No overnight stays are allowed on boats except for residential berth holders (where the boat is their Primary Residence).

  • Toilets and showers can remain open for site users (with COVID-19 cleaning protocols in place).

So to conclude:

  • We are open, we will be checking and keeping a close eye on all boats on our premises and if there are any problems we will notify you straight away.

  • For the safety of our staff we would really ask that you do stay away from the yard at the present time.

  • If anybody does need anything or would like to discuss work they would like completed then please call or email.

STAY AT HOME – STAY SAFE –PROTECT THE NHS
